Biography of Private Thomas Morrison McCulloch Bole

Thomas Morrison McCulloch Bole was born on the 22nd of May 1893 in Mauchline, Ayrshire, to Jessie Morrison McCulloch. He was raised by his grandparents, Agnes and John Bole, who worked as a Labourer. Thomas first matriculated at the University in 1912, aged 19, to study for an Arts degree. He signed up for classes in Latin and Greek, and lived in Bridgeton.

In 1914, Thomas joined the Cameron Highlanders, 6th Battalion. He served in Loos, France, arriving on the 9th of September 1915. After the war, Thomas married Ella Hunter Bruce in 1933 in Mauchline. They moved to Edinburgh, where he worked as an Accountant. Private Thomas Morrison McCulloch Bole died on the 2nd May 1957.
