Biography of 2nd Lieutenant Ian MacGregor Knox Brown

Ian MacGregor Knox Brown was the son of Katherine MacGregor and John Knox Brown, Minister of Langbank in Renfrewshire. He attended John Watson's School in Edinburgh from 1903 until 1908.

Ian was a member of the University of Glasgow Officers' Training Corps and during the war fought with the 11th Royal Scots in the Service Battalion. He went missing during the Battle of Loos and it was later confirmed that he died during the first day of fighting on the 25th September 1915, aged 21. His brother Douglas also died in the First World War, in 1917.
