Grand Bazaar
The Grand Bazaar of 8-10 November opened at Gilmorehill. The event raised £22,360 for the Students' Welfare Scheme.

Bust of OH Mavor
Mrs Rona Mavor presented a bronze bust of her late husband, the University graduate, writer and playwright OH Mavor (1888-1951), to the University. The bust of Mavor, who wrote under the pen name James Bridie, was created by Loris Ley. It was handed over to the Principal, Sir Hector Hetherington, at a ceremony in the print room in the Department of Fine Art. Following the ceremony, Sir Hector opened an exhibition of about forty drawings by Mavor, which had recently been purchased by the University.
