The Chair of Infectious Diseases was founded in 1959 and was renamed the Bill Jarrett Chair of Infectious Diseases on 10th January 2013. It was renamed to to honour the memory of Bill Jarrett, one of the most influential veterinary scientists of his time, who died in August 2011.
