The Barclay Lectureship in Surgery and Orthopaedics in Relation to Infancy and Childhood was founded in 1919 by Robert Francis Barclay, LLB 1892 and LLD 1935, a Glasgow lawyer. A separate lectureship in Orthopaedics was instituted in 1956.
