Colquhoun Lectureship in Business History

Description

The Colquhoun Lectureship in Business History was founded in 1959 from funds raised through an appeal sponsored by the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce and Junior Chamber of Commerce. The Lectureship is attached to the Department of Economic History and is concerned predominantly with the history of business in Glasgow and the West of Scotland. It is named for Patrick Colquhoun (1745-1820) the Glasgow businessman and Lord Provost who was a founder of the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce. The post has not been filled since 1994.
