Biography of Roderick Lyall

Roderick Lyall was appointed Lecturer in the Department of Scottish Literature in 1975 and became Titular Professor of Scottish Literature in 1987. He was Dean of the Faculty of Arts from 1983 until 1986.

Lyall was born and educated in Perth, Western Australia. He is Emeritus Professor of Literatures in English at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam where he taught from 1994 until 2005. He has published widely on late medieval and early modern Scottish and English literature.
