Biography of Agnes Cameron

Agnes Wallace Cameron (d 1975) was a graduate of the University who had a distinguished career as a physician in Glagow.

Cameron was the daughter of Murdoch, Professor of Midwifery from 1894 to 1927, and the sister of Samuel, who held the Chair from 1934 to 1943. She enrolled at Queen Margaret College in 1900 and graduated MB, ChB in 1904. After taking her Diploma in Public Health at the University of Cambridge in 1910, she worked at the Royal Maternity Hospital in Rotten Row, the Royal Samaritan Hospital for Women and Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

After a brief spell in Sheffield, Cameron returned to Glasgow to set iup in private practice. She was dispensary physician to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children and visiting physician to Stobhill Hospital.
