George Maurice McKelvie, known to friends and family as Maurice, graduated BSc from the University of Glasgow on the 23rd June 1920.

He was born in Mauritius, the son of George McKelvie, a preacher and University of Glasgow alumnus.

George Maurice first came to the University in 1913, aged 17, enrolling in the Faculty of Engineering. In the session 1913-14, he took examinations in Ordinary Mathematics, Ordinary Natural Philosophy, and Physical Laboratory. For the session 1914-15, he studied Higher Mathematics, Chemistry, Engineering and Drawing. In 1915-16, he was examined in Higher Natural Philosophy, Engineering and Geology. He then took a break from his studies, during which time he served in the First World War, before returning in 1919 to take his final examinations in Engineering.

George Maurice worked as a Civil Engineer upon graduating. He is also known to have spent time working for the Indian Civil Service. He died in 1969.
