Gerald Timbury
Biography of Gerald Timbury
Gerald Charles Timbury (d 1985) was a graduate of the University who was Professor and Dean of Postgraduate Medical Education from 1980 to 1984.
After graduating MB, ChB, Timbury served as a Captain in the RAMC from 1953 to 1955. He worked in Medicine and Psychiatry before his appointment as a lecturer in Psychological Medicine at the University in 1960. He was Physician Superintendent at Gartnavel Royal Hospital in Glasgow from 1965 to 1980.
Timbury was married to Morag Timbury, titular Professor of Bacteriology at the University. He was awarded an OBE in 1984.
