John Russell Anderson (1918-2011)
John Russell Anderson (1918-2011) was Professor of Pathology at the University from 1967 to 1983.
A graduate of the University of St Andrews, Anderson served in the RAMC during the Second World War. He came to Glasgow in 1947 as Lecturer and then Senior Lecturer in Pathology, and was George Holt Professor of Pathology at the University of Liverpool from 1965 until he returned to Glasgow as Professor of Pathology in 1967.
Anderson was Vice-President of the Royal College of Pathologists in 1975 and President from 1978 to 1981. He was made a CBE in 1980. He died on 30 October 2011.
