John Dunn

Biography of John Dunn

John Shaw Dunn was a graduate of the University who was St Mungo-Notman Professor of Pathology, 1931 to 1936, and Professor of Pathology from 1936 until his death in 1944.

Dunn graduated from the University MA and MD. He became a teaching assistant in the Department of Pathology and, in 1914, was appointed a lecturer in Clinical pathology. During the First World War, he served in the RAMC.

In 1919 Dunn was appointed Professor of Pathology at the University of Birmingham, and he was appointed to the Chair at Manchester in 1922. He was a specialist in the field of renal disease.
