Biography of Marianne Laure Sauvin

Marianne Laure Sauvin enrolled at the University for one year in 1946. She was born in Sainte-Croix, in the Swiss canton of Vaud, daughter of Philippe, a surgeon.

Sauvin entered the School of Interpreters of the University of Geneva in 1945. As part of her course, Sauvin visited the University of Glasgow as a private student the following year and took classes in British History, History, Constitutional History, and English. Apparently, she had been introduced to the University by one Raymond Bawford BA, a former student in the Department of Botany under Regius Professor John Walton. Sauvin was also involved in the National Union of Swiss Students.
