Biography of Duncan Maclennan
Duncan MacLennan was a graduate of the University who was appointed Professor of Social and Economic Research in 1986 and Professor of Housing Studies in 1988. He was MacTaggart Professor of Land Economics and Finance from 1990 to 2004.
MacLennan graduated MA and MPhil from Glasgow and lectured at the University of Aberdeen from 1976 to 1979. He returned to Glasgow as Lecturer in Applied Economics, becoming Senior Lecturer in 1981 and titular Professor in 1984. He was awarded a CBE in 1997 and was Special Adviser to the First Minister of Scotland from 1999 to 2003.
