Biography of John Milne
John Alexander Milne (d 1977) was a graduate of the University who became titular Professor of Dermatolgy in 1968 and was the first person to hold the Chair of Dematology, from 1971 to 1978.
Born in Greenock, Milne graduated MB, ChB in 1944 and in 1946 became a lecturer in Pathology at the Western Infirmary. He was appointed the consultant in administrative charge of the Ayrshire Area Laboratories in 1953, returning to Glasgow in 1960 as Reader in Dermatolgy and in charge of clinical dermatology at the Western Infirmary.
