Biography of Donald McLeish
Donald Alexander Stewart McLeish was a graduate of the University and Professor of Conveyancing from 1946 to 1955. He was Dean of the Faculty of Law from 1950 to 1953.
Born in Lanarkshire, the son of the Rector of Uddingston Grammar School, McLeish graduated MA from the University in 1914 and LLB (winning the Robertson Scholarship) in 1917. He became an assistant to the lecturer in Constitutional Law and History, and from 1931 until his appointement to the Chair, he was Lecturer in Evidence and Procedure.
