James Mill Renton
James Mill Renton graduated from the University MB in 1905. He was born 23rd November, 1883, son of James, a doctor.
Renton first matriculated at the University aged 16 in 1900 to study for a medical degree, taking classes in Zoology and Chemistry. A highly capable student, Renton won various prizes during his time here. He won certificates in Pathology, Medical Jurisprudence and Health, as well as a first-class certificate in Diseases of the Ear in his final year. After graduating, Renton became a Surgeon, taking the position of Senior Surgeon at the Western Infirmary in 1924.
