Sir William Fraser

Sir (William) Kerr Fraser (1929-2018) is a graduate of the University who was President of the SRC, 1951 to 1952; Principal from 1988 until 1995, and Chancellor from 1996 until 2006. He was awarded an LLD by the University in 1982.

Fraser studied at the University and graduated MA and LLB. He became a civil servant, serving in a number of posts including that of Permanent Under-Secretary of State (1978-1988).
