James Andrew Neptune Scott

Biography of James Andrew Neptune Scott

James Andrew Neptune Scott graduated MB CM from the University in 1890 and MD in 1893 with the thesis Diagnosis and treatment of echinococeus cysts.

He was born in Ararat, south-west Victoria, in Australia, son of Dr Thomas Scott of Wannambool, and brother of Martha Hunter Scott, MBChB 1903.

Scott went on to practice in Bendigo. He made 22 world trips and acquired a valuable collection of art. The Neptune Scott Court of the Bendigo Art Gallery is named after him.
