Biography of Robert Ramsay
Robert Ramsay (c 1595-1652) was Rector of the University from 1648 to 1650 and Principal from 1651 until his death.
Ramsay was appointed Minister of Glasgow in 1647, and he was prevented by the Town Council from accepting the Chair of Divinity at the University in 1650. He was appointed Principal in the summer of 1651 but died in office in September of the following year.
