Biography of William Angus Gillespie Mulligan

William Angus Gillespie Mulligan was born on 12th September 1920 in Lanark, Scotland. His father, William Mulligan, was a Grocery Salesman. His mother was Mary Brown Mulligan. He resided with his parents at 296 High Street, Newarthill at the time of matriculation.

He matriculated into Glasgow University in the 1940 - 1941 session. He studied Science (Pure) and took classes in Mathematics, Natural Philosophy, and Chemistry. He was in receipt of the Carnegie Trust Grant and the Education Authority Grant.

Mulligan was an Aircraftman in the Royal Air Force. He died on the 23rd August 1943, and is remembered with honour at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Lanark, Scotland.
