Biography of Kenneth Roy Thornton
Captain Kenneth Roy Thornton of the RAMC was born in Whitley Bay and graduated from the University MA (1934) and MB ChB (1938). He was a house physician at Glasgow Western Infirmary and a House Surgeon at the city's Ear Nose and Throat Hospital before joining the RAMC.
Kenneth and his wife, Moira Helen (née Mackenzie), had a daughter called Rosemary Thornton (married name Bonine) and she was born in December 1941.
Thornton died on 18 February 1943 at Castlederg in Northern Ireland.
