Biography of Angus Ferguson MacLeod
Major Angus Ferguson MacLeod of the London Scottish Regiment was born in Glasgow, the son of a policeman. He studied at the University, where he was President of the Students' Representative Council and Vice President of the University Conservative Association, as well as a member of the Rugby XV. He graduated MA in 1927 and moved to London to work for the Sun Life Insurance Co before qualifying and practising as a solicitor there.
MacLeod was mobilised with his regiment in 1939 and served with the London Scottish in the Middle East. He was killed in action in Italy on 23 February 1943.
