Biography of Ralph Alexander Walls Barr
Major Ralph Alexander Walls Barr was born in Paisley and was enrolled as an Arts student at the University in session 1938-39. He joined the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) seventh battalion and worked his way through the ranks from Second Lieutenant to Major.
Barr was seconded to the Indian Army (Mahar Regiment) in January 1944. He was killed aged 24 in Myanmar on 25 May 1944.
