British Heart Foundation

The British Heart Foundation was established in 1961. It is one of Britain's largest registered charities and in 2007 it is the largest independent funder of heart research in the UK.

The BHF Glasgow Cardiovascular Research Centre opened in 2005 and is funded jointly by the British Heart Foundation and the University. The Centre is intended to bring under one roof a number of internationally recognised cardiovascular research groups and to provide a multidisciplinary research environment.
