Nuffield Provincial Hospitals Trust


The Nuffield Chair of Community Studies was founded in 1992 with a grant from the Nuffield Provincial Hospitals Trust.

The Nuffield Provincial Hospitals Trust was established in 1940 by William Morris (1877-1963), Viscount Nuffield. The name was changed in 1998 to the Nuffield Trust for Research and Policy Studies in Health Services, retaining "The Nuffield Trust" as its working name. The Trust.

The Trust's declared mission is "to promote independent analysis and informed debate on UK healthcare policy", and its purpose to "communicate evidence and encourage an exchange around developed or developing knowledge in order to illuminate recognised and emerging issues".
