John McLachlan Prize

List of Awards


The John McLachlan Prize was founded in 1947. It is aarded annually by the Senate on the recommendation of the Professor of Political Economy for an essay on a subject connected with the growth of shipbuilding or other industrial or commercial enterprises in the West of Scotland demonstrating the importance of individual and personal initiative in the industrial and commercial prosperity of the West of Scotland area. Preference is given to candidates either born or resident within the Burgh of Paisley.
