Lion and Unicorn Stair
The College engaged a mason, William Riddel, to erect stone ballusters on the stair leading up to the Fore Common Hall, and to place figures of a lion and a unicorn on the first turn. The work was begun on 30 June, and completed on 15 August.
On this day in 1933:
Professor Albert Einstein gave the first Gibson Lecture, on the subject "The Modern Theory of Relativity". The lecture was delivered to an audience of 1,500 people in the Bute Hall.

OH Mavor Receives LLD
OH Mavor received an honorary LLD from the University. At the graduation ceremony Professor WR Scott, Dean of the Faculty of Law, referred to him as "Scotland's leading man of letters".
